This Cookie Policy explains how Votis Technologies Ltd (“Votis”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on votis.io. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. By using the banner shown on your first visit you can accept, reject, or choose which non-essential cookies we may set.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners. We also use similar technologies such as local storage to remember your choices — including your cookie preferences themselves.
2. How we ask for consent
When you first visit our site we show a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot function without them. All other categories are switched off by default and are only set if you opt in. You can accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or open preferences to choose per category.
We remember your decision for up to 12 months, after which we’ll ask again. We’ll also ask again if we materially change the cookies we use.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
Required for the site to operate — for example security, network management, and storing your cookie preferences. These are always on and cannot be disabled.
3.2 Functional
Remember choices you make to give you a better experience — for example your light/dark theme preference.
3.3 Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the site (such as which pages are viewed and aggregate traffic) so we can improve it. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you.
3.4 Marketing
Used to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and to show relevant messaging. These may be set by third parties such as advertising or embedded content providers.
4. Third-party cookies
Some pages include content or tools provided by third parties, which may set their own cookies. Where these are non-essential, they are only loaded after you consent to the relevant category. Examples include:
- Trust centre embed: Our Trust Centre page embeds a live compliance profile from OneClickComply.
- Analytics & marketing providers: Where enabled, providers that help us measure usage and campaigns.
We don’t control third-party cookies. Please review the relevant provider’s own privacy and cookie notices for details.
5. Managing your preferences
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button below, or via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
7. Contact us
If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at legal@votis.io.
